Blog Tour: Unclaimed Regrets by Stacy M. Wray

I’m in limbo. If you look close, you’ll see that I’m basically going through the motions. If you look even closer, you’ll see that I’m empty and frustrated as hell with my life.

And then it arrives. That four by six card that tells me ten years have gone by when I wasn’t paying attention. I’m paying attention now.

Pulling my dusty box of memories from the closet shelf, my index finger slowly sifts through the keepsakes that represent the aura of Trey Masterson. The boy who moved from Missouri to Vermont and swept me off my feet the first day of our sophomore year. The boy who I never thought I’d have a chance with but he only had eyes for me. The boy I fell in love with and never stopped.

When we see each other again at our high school reunion, every feeling I ever had for him bleeds from my heart and leaks into every cell of my existence, and I finally feel like I can breathe for the first time in years. I don’t quite get the same reaction from him. In fact, his reaction is downright…cold?

Never knowing the reason of our undoing after I went away to college, I just want some closure. But we can’t seem to carry on a conversation without sparking a slew of emotions - each word igniting all the hurt that’s been buried for ten years.

During the week of our stay in our small town in Vermont, we keep crossing paths but jealousy, bitterness and tragedy threaten to hinder any hopes of possibly rekindling the passion we once shared.

Well, that was quite the blurb. I think they covered just about every part of the story! And quite the story it was. It was super easy to get through and the story was cute. It had an insta-love scenario between the new kid in town and the "underdog"/not so popular girl. The pair got together by halfway through the novel and the rest was just all the bumps and bruises they encountered after the fact. BOY did these two have horrible timing. I think everything that could go wrong went wrong--that's what made it so nice when they finally work things out in the end. The writing was blunt, simple, and at times awkward. The read was still enjoyable, though, as the story was decent and aww-inducing. The author definitely left room for a sequel or, at least, a related story!

Blog Tour: Searching for Always by Jennifer Probst

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Jennifer Probst sparks a blissful mind-body connection as her “sexy, satisfying” (Kirkus Reviews) new series continues! She’s an expert in helping others de-stress, but Arilyn Meadows is running on fumes. Along with her job counselling singles seeking soul mates at the Kinnections agency in Verily, New York, she’s a yoga teacher, animal shelter volunteer, anger management therapist, and helping hand to her beloved grandfather. No time to find Mr. Right—but after discovering her yogi boyfriend in a compromising asana, Arilyn would rather dog-sit for her honeymooning friend Kate than risk her heart on another downward dog. And when police officer Stone Petty—radiating masculinity and bad-boy attitude—is sent to her for mandatory lessons in cooling off when the job gets too hot, Arilyn vows to ignore his seductive glances and sexy grin. But there’s no halting their sizzling flirtation—a red-hot, high-speed chase that’s breaking all the limits.

Searching for Always is available for purchase:

I've been waiting for this book a lonnnnng time. Jennifer caught my interest from the first book in this series (Searching for Someday) and has held it quite steadily. Having read the other books in this series, it was nice to have a background to the characters and have them developed throughout this book. Arilyn is one of the owners of Kinnections, the matchmaking service that has been the cornerstone of the Searching For series. She, herself, has had nothing but bad luck when it comes to love. Stone Petty is a cop in Verily that gets thrown back into Arilyn's path when he is forced to take mandatory anger management classes that she's teaching. Already off on the wrong foot from previous encounters (great set up in the earlier novels), the pair continue to hate on each other. The chemistry, however, is undeniable between the two despite their (many) differences. The more time they spend together, the closer they get and the less they can keep their hands off each other despite both of their efforts--you get the picture.

Searching for Always was definitely not a disappointment--it kept up to the other books in this series. Though it is the last in this series and there are a few things one would know from if you read the other novels in this series, it can be read as a standalone (though, trust me, if you haven't read the other books already, you're going to want to!!). Great read for the summer and easy to get through--enjoy!

Blog Tour: Team Lucas by Ally Adams

“I want to stay forever... I want to have you for as long as I can have you Lucas, even if that is a week or a year or a decade.”

Mia Carter never thought getting suspended from her part-time job for having attitude could be the best thing to ever happen ... maybe.

When Lucas Ainswright—one of the world’s biggest sporting stars—needs a minder, it just so happens that attitude is just what is needed to keep Lucas in line.

Now Mia’s job is to manage the sporting world’s bad boy and keep him at the top of his game for the season. Game on!

I've always had a soft spot for athletes. Especially footie players...I blame it to growing up a die-hard Red Devils fan. Anyways, when I think Lucas Ainswright, I think David Beckham. This novel just got that much better :) So we have the hotshot captain of the Saints being paired up with a strong-minded and driven minder. LOVED how the two characters played off each other. Definitely chemistry right off the bat. I also liked how there was no insta-love here--the relationship developed nice and slowly. It made for a much relateable story.

Mia totally steps up to the plate. She may be young and somewhat inexperienced but she makes up for that in grit and determination to succeed where others have failed before her. I love that she doesn't take shit from anyone regardless of who they are. I think that's what makes her a good match for Lucas' egotistical and defensive nature. She calls him out on his bullshit and keeps him in check, holding him accountable for his actions. She gains the respect of those around her and that's what I like to see in female leads!

The story is a good one. It definitely keeps you wanting more and was easy to get through. Great debut novel by Ally Adams. I didn't love how abruptly the story ended as it left a lot of questions (mainly to do with what happens with Lucas and Mia after they get together). Regardless, still an enjoyable read. Can't wait for the next book in this series!
